Nancy Siy

In 2009, Nancy Siy began her yoga journey looking for a way to calm her mind. More than the physical asanas, it is the healing, empowerment, and emotional growth from the practice that urged her to try the different styles of yoga and experience the different benefits that each one has to offer. In November 2009, she became an ethical vegan after being awakened to the reality of animal suffering. She started to wonder about the connection between yoga and veganism, and that is how she first heard of Jivamukti Yoga, as the style has a strong emphasis on ahimsa and compassion for all beings as a way of life. Drawn by the unique style of incorporating philosophy and ethics into asanas, Nancy attended each Jivamukti workshop that came to Manila and pursued her Jivamukti Yoga 300-Hour Teacher Training Certification in Omega Institute, Rhinebeck, New York, USA in 2012.
She honors and holds in deep gratitude her teachers in the Jivamukti lineage Sharon Gannon, David Life, Jules Febre, and Ruth Lauer-Manenti, not only for the explicit teachings, but also for showing her that love is present and that there is good in each and every being.
